骨膠原是一種人體內的天然物質，主要儲存於真皮、肌肉和骨骼中。骨膠原是人體必需的蛋白質，由纖維細胞負責生成，約佔人體重量的5%。骨膠原是一種無所不在的纖維狀物質，能維持肌膚緊緻彈性，並且促進肌膚再生能力。骨膠原的作用就像彈簧和「人體膠水」，從肌膚底層支撐臉部結構。骨膠原與透明質酸一樣重要，但也會隨着年齡增長而流失。
