5 top tips for a peachy complexion

Kiss goodbye to a grey complexion, drawn features or dull skin. Follow these five tips for a peachy, glowing complexion from dawn till dusk.

Take care of your skin

This may seem obvious, but good skin means healthy skin. Using a gentle cleanser morning and night will remove impurities and any traces of make-up. Treat minor blemishes; pimples, redness, dryness, enlarged pores; once a week with a gentle face scrub, because dead skin cells can suffocate pores. Try a radiant face mask to brighten skin and finish off with a moisturiser suited to your skin type.

Boost circulation

Try self-massage for rosy cheeks. As well as relieving stress and brightening features, a bit of facial yoga will boost your skin's circulation, oxygenating the skin and eliminating toxins. Massage your face with your fingertips, starting at the centre of your chin and working outwards, along your jaw and up to your nose and ears. You'll look fresh-faced in no time.

Eat the right diet

To get good skin and prolong your summer tan, think red and orange. Red or orange fruits and vegetables are packed with beta-carotene; try melon, apricot, peach, tomato, red pepper and, of course, carrots. Whether you eat them raw, cooked, in salads or as smoothies, don't hold back.

Avoid alcoholic drinks

Keeping up your fluid intake is essential to hydrate body and skin. Drink 1.5 litres every day of water, herbal or fruit infusions, or tea. Opt for a morning detox: freshly squeezed lemon juice in a glass of warm water on an empty stomach will drain toxins, cleanse the liver and give your skin a boost.

Clever make-up tricks

Don't overdo the blusher; aim for a natural look. Use a highlighter on the apples of your cheeks and upper eyelids. For an instantly sun-kissed look, follow this with a light bronzing powder on your T-zone and cheeks. Finally, apply a soft pink blusher and wave goodbye to that sallow complexion.
